Itinerant Festival CortoEspaña 2019
Granero Street, in the Barrio del Oeste, will host from next Thursday, June 20, the third edition of the Itinerant Festival CortoEspaña, which in Salamanca adopted the name of Summer Short Film. This event, arrived in the city thanks to the efforts of Salamanca Film Commission, allows viewers to enjoy the best selection of short films from the Spanish audiovisual panorama during the months of June and July. The screenings will begin at 10:15 p.m. and are divided into two blocks: the first will be held on 20, 27 June and 4 July and it will screen the short films in competition this year. The audience will be able to vote for their favorite piece. In the second block, which will begin on Thursday, July 11, the best short films of the last editions and out of competition are screened. CortoEspaña is an initiative for the exhibition and promotion of short film in our country, whose objective is to make the short format occupy the relevant position that corresponds to it within the Spanish audiovisual landscape. CortoEspaña performs more than 150 events a year, between festivals and thematic cycles, which send the short film throughout the Spanish geography. The Itinerant Festival CortoEspaña is currently the largest event around the short film in our country, with more than 30,000 spectators gathered in 2018 in its 100 events. One of the peculiarities of the Festival is the enormous weight of all the spectators who attend the festivals of the circuit. The votes of the whole public are collected to elucidate which works are, on average, the favorites of the attendees, and in this way grant the different prizes (the first, second, third or fourth Audience Prize, endowed respectively with 2,000, 1,000, 500 and 250 euros). This third edition is organized by Salamanca Film Commission and has the collaboration of bar el Granero, Javier Díez and ZOES.
