TISSUE AND THE SALMANTIN FOOTWEAR INDUSTRY IN THE TWENTIETH CENTURY
With this notebook the Museum of Commerce and Industry of Salamanca wishes to pay tribute to one of the most relevant companies that the province had during the last century, TEJISA, which would have completed eighty years of business validity in 2013. With an exclusive dedication to the world of footwear, the factory was founded in 1928 by Don Teodoro Jiménez and had its first headquarters in his home town, Peñaranda de Bracamonte. The consequences for the company of the terrible explosion that occurred in Peñaranda in 1939 led to its transfer to the capital of the province, where it remained until its disappearance in the eighties of the last century. The text of this new installment on the history of trade and industry in Salamanca has been written by Professor Miguel Carabias Orgaz who, apart from his research work, has had, to carry out his work, the memories of Don Teodoro Jiménez Ruipérez, son of the founder of TEJISA. 27,5x15cm, 2,5€
