Awards ceremony and inauguration of the photographic exhibition dedicated to salamanca and province hairdressers

The Photographic Competition of the Museum of Commerce reached its eighth call: A competition that began in 2009 commemorating the Centenary of the Central Market of Supplies, has maintained in all its editions a theme directly linked to the Salmantino trade and industry. In this edition the theme of the contest has been Hairdressers of Salamanca and province. At the event, which was attended by the Councilor for Tourism, Don Julio López Revuelta, the four prizes were awarded financially: first, second and third, plus the special for photographs that, according to the subject, have presented extra-provincial images) and 11 accésits. Fifty-two photographers and a total of 168 works have attended this eighth contest. They are represented hairdressers Salamanca, Ciudad Rodrigo, Carbajosa de la Sagrada or Béjar. And, as regards the extra-provincial cast, photographs have arrived from several Spanish regions such as Asturias, La Rioja, Catalonia or Andalusia and from countries such as Italy or Thailand. Then the exhibition was inaugurated, which was open to the public until February 2018 It collected sixty selected photographs among which were submitted to the contest and whose ruling was made public in November 2017. In addition to the opening and awards ceremony, the network version of the photo exhibition was presented to the media. With the intention of renewing the competition and encouraging the visualization of the works that have been presented, in addition to exhibiting them in the rooms of the Museum, in this eighth edition, they were shown to the public digitally.
