MADRILEÑA CONFITERIA. No. 4 of the main square

The commercial history of the confectionery La Madrileña begins in Zamora Street although, before the beginning of the 20th century, it is already open to the public in the Salamanca agora. And in that same place it has remained to this day, without giving symptoms of fatigue despite being, for decades, a centenary trade. Its fame has a tourist dimension, because, from that central situation, it makes known typical products of the land, such as that candy so salmantino that we call chocho. Its origin and its vicissitudes throughout that time have been written, in this new installment of the Museum of Commerce, by Tomás Rivas Verdú.
