Visit to Jose Cruz's Bull Ranch
For the sixth consecutive year, the Bullfighting Museum of Salamanca and the Salamanca City of Culture and Knowledge Foundation have organized the "El toro bravo, un Rito" (The Fighting Bull, a Ritual) writing and drawing competition for schools in the city of Salamanca. Two students from Santa Catalina and San Jose schools were declared winners.
On June 18th, the entire class of the competition winners visited the Cabezal Viejo ranch, where José Cruz's fighting bulls graze, located in the municipality of Agueda.
The students enjoyed a field day where they learned firsthand from bull breeder Rafael Cruz how the fighting bull lives in its natural habitat, the dehesa, a typical Salamanca landscape.
