BULLFIGHTING SUITS COLLECTION

The bullfighter's suit does not make the bullfighter, but truly there is no bullfighter, nor a festival as tradition dictates, displaying its traditional character, without a traje de luces.
Indeed, it constitutes a fundamental element, complemented by the other bullfighting implements, of the bullfight ceremony, from the moment the bullfighter dresses at the hotel or at home, and after the paseíllo, throughout the entire lidia.
Besides the traje de luces, there are other varieties used by bullfighters on other occasions. Such is the case of the so-called traje goyesco, simpler and with less decorative embellishment, inspired by those worn during Goya's era. It is used only on rare occasions, such as corridas goyescas, notably the one celebrated annually in Ronda.
The traje corto or traje campero (short suit or country suit) is particularly beautiful, inspired by rural tasks and used for tientas and and festivals.
Notable are the picador suits of Juan María and Aurelio García, great Salamanca picadors, as well as the silver embroideries of the banderillero Jose Luís Barrero.
