VIII Conference Series on the History of Commerce and Industry in Salamanca and Province
TUESDAY 29TH MARKS THE START OF THE VIII CONFERENCE SERIES ON THE HISTORY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY IN SALAMANCA
The VIII series of conferences on the History of Commerce and Industry in Salamanca, organized by the Museum of Commerce and the Interuniversity Program of Experience (Pontifical University of Salamanca), will commence on October 29.
The 6 scheduled conferences, each lasting fifty minutes, will review various economic aspects of Salamanca and its province from a historical perspective. The series will span two weeks, taking place on October 29, 30, and 31, and November 5, 6, and 7, starting at 7:30 PM at the Museum of Commerce (Avda. de Campoamor s/n). Admission is free until full capacity is reached.
The program is as follows:
October 29. Juan Antonio Frías (Centro de Estudios Bejaranos): Paper manufacturing in the Salamanca sierra.
October 30. Carlos García Medina (Ethnographer): Muleteering in the western part of Salamanca province.
October 31. Josefa Montero García (Secondary Education Professor): "The musical market in the documentation of the Salamanca Cathedral Archive."
November 5. Alberto de Miguel Hidalgo (University Professor of Financial Economics and Accounting, USAL): The effect of the economic crisis on Salamanca companies.
November 6. Jesús Málaga Guerrero (Doctor and Politician): Salamanca at the beginning of the 20th century.
November 7. Javier Ramón Sánchez Martín (Professor and Director of the Higher School of Industrial Engineering of Béjar): The Industrial Heritage of Béjar. State of the art.
