ELMA NO. 6 COFFEE GRINDER. MID-20TH CENTURY.

Made of cast steel and wood. Measurements 65x45x35cm. Manufactured by the Alavese company Elma S.A. Collection of the Museum of Commerce and Industry of Salamanca. Located in the museum's grocery store.

The recently restored grinder (removal of rust layer, greasy dust, etc.) by restorer Isabel Pantaleón Rodríguez, is in perfect condition without losing, at the same time, an iota of the charm that the passage of time bestows.

The Alavese company Elma was founded in 1924 and continues to be active a hundred years later. In old grocery stores or general stores, most products were sold in bulk; oil, legumes, coffee, etc. This model was used to manually grind large quantities of coffee and serve them to customers.

We appreciate the generosity of María Nuria Sánchez Vicente for donating this wonderful piece, to which the restoration has given the balance and appearance it deserves.
